She was employed as a paralegal in the legal department of Gulfstream Aerospace. Her favorite team was the Pittsburg Penguins and she traveled with her best friends to several destinations to watch her Penguins play. Melba McAllister Priestley, wife of the late Robert Edward Priestley, died August 6, 2022 at home after a brief illness. Born in Montgomery County, Georgia,on November 18, 1932, Melba was the only child of the late Duncan and Etheleene D. McAllister. She earned her BS in Education at Georgia Teachers College and received her MS in Education from Armstrong State University .

Christopher Joseph Fahey

He was born January 26, 1933 in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin to Marie Bauer Elder Hoecherl and Oscar Gould Elder. Harry Hoecherl began his violin studies with Hilda McConnell in Spooner, Wisconsin at age 11. He graduated from Northland College in 1955 with a BA in music education with an emphasis in violin and clarinet. There he met and married his wife, Alexandra Shattuck.

Michael continued his education at Clemson University earning his MS, ABD in Mathematics. Michael eventually made his way to the lowcountry to teach Mathematics at Georgia Southern University. His career took a turn however when he saw a need in the community. Thomas Herrmann, met his Savior face to face in the early morning of May 21, 2022, after a four year battle with a traumatic brain injury due to Listeria bacterial meningitis.

John B. "Jack" Armstrong

The Savannah native was the son of the late Horace Byron Colley and Abby Payne. Company Commander from Georgia Military Academy in 1958, Sonny continued his education at Armstrong State College. On Sunday, September 25, 2022, Ellene Wilkinson Anderson, loving wife and mother of two, passed away at age seventy-seven. Ellene left a strong legacy of love in the lives of so many, especially her husband, Tom Anderson, two daughters, Deanna Sorrells and Danielle Akrong ; and granddaughter, Mia Ellene Akrong. A lifelong resident of Savannah, Ellene was the daughter of the late Henry Nielson and Mary Guyton Wilkinson.

She was the personification of a gracious, cultured, southern lady and she will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. She was raised in Aiken, South Carolina, with her brother Charlie, by her loving mother and father, Ada Vera Ricks and Idus Henry Ri ... Mary Atkinson Wilkes Lynn died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 5.

Mary Ellen Sullivan Fountain, 88, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Candler Hospital. She was born September 25, 1934 in Savannah to the late Maurice and Ann Stapleton Sullivan.

Eileen June Arnold, 80, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2022, in Savannah, Georgia, her home for almost 40 years. Eileen was born on August 2, 1942, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Julia and John Kovey, the elder of their two children. She attended Cardinal Mooney High School and continued her education at Youngstown State University. While in high school, Eileen was an active member of Junior Achievement, serving as the secretary for her local chapter, where she met her future husband, Ron Arnold. Faith and family were always the core of Eileen’s life. Deborah Anne Henderson Hughes died December 9, 2022 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta after a lengthy illness.

He lived in many locations over the years, but he fell in love with Savannah when he visited with his wife 23 years ago. This is where he settled and pursued his career in real estate. Patrick was completely devoted to his family, friends, and God. He was filled with kindness and compassion, which was apparent in his everyday interactions. Patsy graduated from St. Vincent’s Academy in 1967 and from Armstrong State College with a B.S. Degree in nursing and a master’s degree in Special Education. She taught middle school special education students, and also established a successful tutoring service from her home, One-On-One Tutoring.

Born November 5, 1948, in Savannah, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jack Howard Oliver and Marion Judkins Oliver. Bert was a 1966 graduate of Jenkins High School and received a bachelor’s of education degree from Columbia College. A lifelong educator, Bert’s passion in life was her 30 plus year teaching career. She was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

John Edward Gray IV, was born into this world on December 4, 2021, and lifted up into heaven on April 17, 2022. He is the son of Elisabeth Marie Gray and John Edward Gray III. Though he was small, he was mighty.

Mr. John W. Malone, age 80 passed away at home in Savannah, GA on April 8, 2022. John was born in Benton, Arkansas to the late Archie Harris and Annie Sanders Malone. He was a guitar player and singer in a band in his younger years. He retired after 30 years with the Corp of Engineers working on the Atlantic and Gulf coast.

Christine was born September 28, 1972 and lived in Highland Falls, New York during her youth. Christine moved to Savannah, Georgia as a young adult and lived there until her death. She is the last daughter of Joseph Napolitano and Linda Napolitano. Christine leaves behind her parents, her older sisters Lisa and Nikki, and her three children Justin, Kiera, and Alexis. Christine was loved by many people and was a radiant light to all that knew her.
